Celebrating 10 Years

My parent's church is celebrating their 10th anniversary on Sunday. I was asked to paint a sign for the celebration, and this is what I did. Pretty easy, nothing too fancy, hopefully what they wanted! I'll try to get pictures of it up at the celebration too.

I had to use the whole length of our family room to make it the right size. My little one woke up right as I was finishing, so that's her waaaay down at the end (smile).

And, up close, just because she's cute. After naps she always has those little tired eyes. So sweet. Ha. 

We've got sort of a crazy week ahead, but I'll be back with more commissioned art, art and craft show news, and new prints in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for reading!

{Your Space} Aniston's Room

You probably all recall that my sister had another baby girl a few weeks ago, and before little miss Aniston was born I did a couple of paintings for her room. This space is so cute. The main wall is a dark chocolate brown, but there are big windows that make the whole room feel light and airy. All the bright colors probably for sure help with that too! 

Daniel and I have been talking a lot about getting back to art for the sake of creating and less for the sake of having a product to sell... I'm feeling a little antsy to get some time for painting just to paint. I guess we'll see if I can make that happen soon! Ellie's nap schedule has been a little strange lately, so nothing is predictable anymore. Can't seem to make any plans! Oh, well. Such is the life of a mama (and I really love being her mom)!

Psalm 51

I painted this for a sweet friend who is moving to Seattle in just a few days! I'm so excited for her to experience life in that city and I was so happy to create this for her. She loves this verse and the color yellow, so this is what I came up with!

Just came across this adorable blog with amazing prints and so many other fun things! I feel like we do sorta similar work, only mine is paint and hers is digital. Either way, we have worked with some of the same scriptures. I absolutely love her interpretations. 




And these kitchen prints? Holy Cow.  Love 'em.

{Your Space} Gloria

I painted these for my friend's sweet little girl. They chose Psalm 34:8 (which is a great verse, plus it has their baby girl's name in it). The colors and the birds mimic the bedding and the curtains. I love the combo of the art with the bedding and the totally different wall color in this space!

We've been fighting colds around here, so I haven't been painting much (I usually paint while Ellie sleeps, but the last few days I've been napping too! I must need it). Hopefully I will have more to show you soon!

Baby Miriam

So many babies! This is for some other friends who had a sweet baby girl a couple months ago. They knew they wanted this text and green, blue, yellow and pink somehow. I had fun coming up with ways to use all the colors they wanted - dandelions and a dragonfly were the result!

{Your Space} Love.

This is one of my favorite coffee paintings... here it is in a comfy family room! I love that it looks so good with the wall color and brings a little pop of color to an otherwise fairly neutral space.

Confession: This is my sister and brother-in-law's home. It makes me SO happy when my paintings find homes with people I know and love. 

You who belong.

My sweet friend Brittany has walked through a ton of trials in recent years but I have seen her walk through them with such grace, strength and dignity. Her most recent victory was graduating from college, so of course we had to celebrate! I painted this as a gift for her. 

She chose the verse and I picked colors that are similar to the colors I used when I painted a flower on her grad cap. Thanks for letting me make this for you! Love you, Britt.

Reminded.

Yesterday I randomly came across this photo via the Q Cafe facebook page. 

I was reminded that my art was up there in 2007 for a little while, and it was so much fun! I guess I'm hoping to do that again someday. In the meantime, I really need to get back to painting more trees...
