Art Benefit

I am an offical art donor! Some students at SPU are putting together a benefit called: Bettering the World Through Art - A Benefit for the Social Injustice of Human Trafficking. My dear friend Holly suggested me to her friend who is involved, and of course, I jumped at the chance to donate something! Good exposure for a great cause! I've been so excited to work on my trees again, so I stuck with that theme. Here is what I came up with:

A little more info on the event: "Bettering the World Through Art is an art benefit that has been created to raise funds and awareness on the issue of Human Trafficking. Human Trafficking in the forms of sex slavery and slave labor are pressing problems in Washington and Seattle happens to be one of the largest ports for smuggling humans in.

100% of the proceeds will go directly to W.A.R.N. (Washington Anti-Trafficking Response Network), a non-profit organization. WARN is the only network in Washington that provides shelter, protection and resources to victims of trafficking. WARN has served our state and these victims persistently and humbly over the years. It is our desire to recognize the service of this non-profit organization. We have also chosen to keep the funds local in order to support and bring about change within our surrounding communities...

The benefit will be held on the evenings of April 2-4 2009, and will be a silent auction. Items being auctioned off will include art work, sculptures, and packages that have been donated by artists, businesses, and local university art students. The silent auction will also be available online to increase the exposure and number of people that will be able to partake in giving support... "

The Benefit will be held at the 108 Occidental Gallery in Pioneer Square [Downtown Seattle].
