I Heart U.

This is the first of my ATCs - it's super tiny! I had fun making them, I just wish I had more time... Molly will be posting everyone else's sometime soon, so I'll keep you posted so you can see more.

Today I am making a bunch of catch up phone calls, working on a huge painting of 1 John 1:7, incubating on a few other upcoming projects, then having dinner with much loved friends tonight! What does your Tuesday hold?

Auction for Haiti.

Ok, so I've been talking about this for a while and I'm still not really sure how to do it, but let's try anyways... I'll separately post the marker pieces I've done the last couple of weeks, and the starting bid will be 15.00 each. In the comment section, you "bid."

15.00 isn't that much to support Haiti - but it's a start. Feel free to go higher if you'd like! It's up to you. Each posted piece is an original created with markers on sketchbook paper.

The auction will be over on Friday, and each piece will go to the highest bidder - which I'll announce in a post on Friday. The art will promptly be mailed out to the winners next week. Kapeesh?

Baby G

Some family friends are having their first baby (girl) soon - yeah! My mom is having a shower for them today, so when I was in California last week she asked me to decorate some paper bags for a game they are going to play. It's basically a guessing game - in each bag there is a baby item that starts with the letter on that bag. Get it? So if it's A, the item in the bag might be applesauce. P, maybe a pacifier... get it? Whoever guesses the most correctly gets the prize. It seems like a cute game and I had a fun time making the letters on the bag kinda match the paper goods.

Congrats Benji and Greta! Can't wait to meet your sweet little one.

Commissions for Haiti

While I kind of get my head together for the "auction" I've been talking about, I wanted to throw out this idea: I'd love to do some commissioned pieces and give 75% of the proceeds to a charity of your choice in Haiti (the other 25% would go towards shipping and handling). I know of a couple great places I am supporting already, but if any of you are interested in supporting a different place and getting some personalized art out of it, please let me know! This could be anything from tree paintings to marker drawing like I've recently done - it's totally up to you.

I'm excited to show you some new things as well as finally get to work on some things I have in the works for a while.  Laying low this weekend, but I'm hoping by Monday I'll be back in action. Have a great weekend, everyone!

AMEC Art Show

I'm back in Seattle! Still sick and just laying around. This is starting to get ridiculous how much I've been sick recently - I'm ready to get to the bottom of all this.

In the meantime, I wanted to share the show I hung up last week at my friend Tiffany's work (AMEC Earth and Environmental, Inc.) in Bothell, WA. They have a really long, bare hallway and I was able to liven in up a bit with my Everyday Series! I am excited to finally have this series hung up somewhere - it's nice to see it hung on walls other than my own.

I really appreciate the opportunity to hang my work anywhere - it seems like the art world is really hard to break into, and it's all about who you know and what connections you have. It's really encouraging to have friends who are willing to take a chance on me with the connections they have. If you know of anyone or any place looking for art, please don't hesitate to pass my name along.

And, thanks for stopping by - I appreciate each one of you!
